Today, we will discuss developing your confidence by eliminating one of the most toxic beliefs circulating on the internet.

The online world often expects constant engagement. Many people believe you are only valuable when actively producing something. However, it is essential to distinguish your worth from your productivity.

Due to ADHD-like tendencies in biology or culture, many of us also experience a mind that tends to expect we SHOULD be able to do everything right now. I can relate to that. But let's face the facts – trying to do everything simultaneously is not feasible.

Today, I’ll show you how to be more than productive. You will learn how to:

🔄 Choose the narratives about yourself.

💪Embrace the fact that being you is enough.

🏃‍♂️ Live with a sense of being enough.

Choose the narratives about yourself.

If you're anything like me, you might have a long history of feeling like you're not measuring up or hearing negative remarks from others. However, realizing that this history shouldn't create pressure to do more and do it faster is essential. You weren't flawed; you were learning.

The story you choose to tell about yourself holds significance. If you keep repeating stories that portray you as broken or messed up, you'll inevitably find evidence to support that perception. Similarly, if you believe your value lies solely in what you produce, you'll constantly evaluate yourself based on daily output.

So, what if you choose to tell yourself a different story? A story in which you embrace the ideas of learning, growth, and openness to change? By doing so, you would start noticing opportunities daily and trust your decision-making abilities more.

Embrace the fact that being you is enough.

You don't always have to produce something or feel the need to have a profound statement or contribution. Simply being yourself is sufficient.

We often focus on what we haven't done. We ignore what we do. This makes us feel worthless.

Take a moment to write down everything you did today, no matter how small or routine it may seem. Include tasks like brushing your teeth (hopefully!) or turning on the device you're reading this on. Once you have it all written out, you might be surprised by how many things you accomplished.

Shift your focus from what-ifs to your actual actions. Recognize that your efforts alone are always enough, whereas dwelling on what-ifs never leads to satisfaction.

Consistently live with a sense of being enough.

Changing core beliefs is not an easy task. It requires repetition and exposure to new experiences. Here are some practices I recommend:

1. Act as if: Imagine how you would behave if your value were not solely dependent on productivity. Implement those behaviors throughout the week. Over time, your actions will reshape your mindset.

2. Maintain an action journal: Track what you do throughout the day. Review your accomplishments at the end of the day. This will give you a better understanding of what you can do and help you determine if you need to allocate your time and resources differently.

3. Seek better influences: Evaluate the media you consume and the people you surround yourself with. Do they promote the idea that your value lies solely in your productivity? If so, seeking connections that support a healthier perspective might be beneficial.
